i like the clock, and i can't see any reason to turn it off. perhaps SE were being a bit over-cautious in not giving people the option, but it really is best for you and your phone to leave it on..

I guess your right. I see no other reason why they made it this way... Anywayz, it wouldn't take away the fact that both t68 and t300 are superb phones

The T68i (probably depends on software version) turns the clock on after a long time even when charging, or at least mine does!
I personally like the clock and when you get a new text and it's keypad is locked it turns the LCD on but with no backlight to show you that you've got a text and it blinks it's green led for a short time!
The clock saves shedloads of power cos I THINK that the display is completely off and the phone "inverses" the clock portion so that it reflects the maximum amount of light whilst leaving the rest of the pixels off. Im guessing here but just watch closely next time it goes to sleep and you press the c button to unlock it, you can see it turning the rest of the display on shortly after it activates the backlight.
Sorry if I have bored you to tears but I find my T68i very interesting from a technical point of view. Ive got a T39m too.
