I just tested it but I see no difference in the menu. It still says "Conacts" and it also brings me to the contacts.
I uploaded the RIGHT_SOFTKEY_HOOK.itm to \\tpa\\preset\\custom with A2 Uploader V3.
Then I took out the battery, replaced it, and turned on the phone. But no change. What could have gone wrong?

Your problem is in the customise.xml file there is already the RIGHT_SOFTKEY_HOOK.itm files in that file, so you need to edit the customise.xml, then fine the similar bit, delete it, and replace that section with the generated RIGHT_SOFTKEY_HOOK.itm file

You want a hook walkman hook that upon pressing should go directly to the now playing screen in music right? And what i want is a hook for media function which is default in K850i with just a changed icon of media. Like somebody has done with centre soft key- changed the icon to sony ericsson logo but the function remained same-menu.
Just visit the thread in this section name 'mod softkey hook' and you'll have what you want.

It will soon have image support working, please could you give me a list of "operations" such as media_player etc..
I will add them to the app,

Yes you are right that is what i want, wanna Now playing instead Contacts so it will be faster to enter in the music. I think this is that thread you want to show me:
