I keep looking at the latest DSLR's but I know from past experience that if its not pocketable, then it'll just sit at home
@masseur - a POCKETABLE - DSLR

H m m m . . . is there a DSLR out in the market at present that is just AS big as that of a POINT-and-SHOOT
Well anyways . . . I'm starting to get acquainted with an Olympus E-500 (8 MP) . . . and a Pentax Optio M50 for a point-and-shoot
Here's a digicam-site that masseur referred me to some years ago that is truly worth browsing at when it comes to looking for a potential camera-buy . . .

But i think i'll buy it before crhistmas, it will be a D40.
ah and another thing is i take much more photos with my phone than with my cam

Any camera is just a means to an end, the end being an image, whats important is that you are taking pictures not what you are using to do so!
Chasing technology and mp`s wont enable you to take "better" pictures it will just empty your bank account ;-(
If YOU take a pic and YOU like what YOU see then evrything else is irrelevant

@street - Oh yeah .. and I do AGREE with your thoughts here . . . I remembera story in the past wherein a PROFESSIONAL photographer was given a low-end digicam brand while a NOVICE was handed a high-end brand, they took the very objects . . . at then end, images captured with that of the PRO-Photographer was much better than those taken by the NOVICE participant . . .
It all ends up with the PROPER settings . . .

...which really proves nothing except that a NOVICE can mess up the settings ON a PROFESSIONAL camera as they don't KNOW what they are doing, whereas a PROFESSIONAL can make the BEST use of THE settings on ANY camera BECAUSE they know WHAT they are doing regarding light, exposure, framing etc ETC etc:-) btw, did I emphasise the right words?

Thanks everyone...
@*Jojo* - masseur said that " that if its not pocketable, " not that there was a POCKETABLE - DSLR
but I think everyone got that.
Lots of great comments to make me think.
I remember buying an SLR camera many many years back, and extra lenses but on a 36 roll of film, I only took 5 good shots.
Yes, it was my lack of understanding... ;-(
So I am thinking of simplicity with operation and hopefully, if my eye is good for a photo, then great results.

@ofiaich - Maybe masseur meant "POCKETABLE" - figuratively

or literally

Oh whatever it is . . . there is NO available DSLR out in the market that can FIT in your trouser's pockets
