Yes, the n96 is very very slow, laggy and restars every now and then, but its only in the beginning when it still caches files. But later on it gets fast, faster than n95 in menu speed, contacts and even cetain application. However, its video performance is really poor, it does not have a 3d hard ware accelerator, it lags when i play snakes!

But seeing your problem , it could be the software problem. Backup your contacts and stuff and then, enter *#7370# from standby and put ur security code when asked. It will do a soft reset.. and then wait for a week or so, and then hopefully it should run well. I use a2dp of my n96 everyday to connect with sony ericsson mbs 100. It does not go too loud, as when paired with SE phone, but it works pretty well. But i did notice that, it wouldnt work well with a2dp headphones, and the music would frequently cut off(which was last year).
Havent tried it again, after updating tho.

It's a reccession, OF COURSE it's all money money money.

Right now, companies have got to look after themselves first or else they might not be there in 12 months time. Would you rather your mobile phone had a few fixable faults here and there, or would you rather 1000's of people lost their jobs and Nokia went bust completely?

It has a Video Accelerator, but yes no Graphics Accelerator, those are two diff hardware, the N95 had both, although its video accelerator wasnt as powerful.
The rest of the N96 hardware is just a complete letdown.

@GUCCI.011
Well if you put it that way, I'll have to agree. About a priced-down N95, isn't N85 exactly something like that?

Exactly what i meant in last page, N85 is what any ex N95 user should go for,its for the masses,and even includes some extra features over the N96 like an FM Transmitter, USB Charging (a 1st for NOKIA ladies and gentleman ), touch navi wheel (like N81), ARM11 369mhz CPU, 1200mAh battery, OLED display, improved fp2 UI etc. . .all in a smaller and cheaper package, N79 as well offers similar features in candy bar form,yet also very well priced, NOKIA figured the N96 wouldnt do well before putting it out i suspect, just like their other DVB-H phones: N77 and N92, funny enough the latter uses the predecessor of N96 CPU, so they must have some type of deal with STMicroelectronics.

I considered N85 and N82 before purchasing C905, but since the black N82 is very rare and N85 wasn't available yet (both conditions probably apply only to my country), I decided to go for C905.

Strangely enough, even though the slider and camera cover wobbles, I don't! I nearly bricked it and brought it back to life with help from some members here, and I'll have to say it was a quite endearing experience... Besides, I can always swap phones with my buddy who has a black N82 if I want a bit of Nokia-ness

Black N82's are rare, but they can be obtained......

No other Nokia currently would make me change, either(N86 isn't out, and is a slider)...let alone a non-smartphone(from ANY maufacturer)......
