Yep, the writting to the memory card is the problem. By trying another 8 GB Kingston (100% empty), most video captures have stutters (even when uploaded on youtube)... SO THE CONCLUSION seems to be a faulty phone having problems writting semalessly to the memory card.

Tomorrow I will give it to the Service Center; if they give me a replacement Vivaz in less than 7 days I will open a champagne (bloody SE - zero customer service)

Hi!

Does anyone of you have problems during audio playback? I get once in a while very short pause-breaks (less than a second) while listening to mp3s. It becomes anoying after a while.

I have an Orange UK Vivaz, unlocked in Belgium, could it be related to this?
Thinking about a firmware update now, does anyone know if network unlocking will remain after a SEUS update?
Can I brick my phone by doing so, like it was with upgrading the unlocked Iphones in the past?

Any ideas will be higly appreciated! Software version is R2AA029, custom version is R2AA026 (whatever this means).

Latest firmware is R2AK007.
If you upload debranded firmware the unlock remain otherwise i don't know.

Thanks a lot, I'll give it a try. In the worst case I will make unlock again I guess.

BTW The short breaks/freezes during playback are also there during VIDEO playback, anyone with a similar problem?

The unlock is definitive.
Your phone will not lock if you update it.

Yesterday I did it. New firmware is installed and indeed the unlocking stays .

Moreover, I solved the audio/video freezing problem too. Aparently it was due to the Orange menu, which allows to bring shortcuts to the desktop by sliding over the screen. I had too many of them probably leading to memory shortage.

Now I'm really happy with my new phone. Great features, modest price, palm-size, and these curves... so nice to hold it

Would be nice to be able to change songs during playback using the volume control cradle on the side of the phone.
Just like in the W800 for example.
Pressing the (-) button for 2 seconds changes to the next track, pressing (+) goes to the previous.
It's very handy, because you don't have to unlock the phone, go to the media menu, etc.
Moreover you can change the playing song without looking at the phone!

Mine proved to be defective one - they will either replace the handset or some crucial inner circuit. Who knows, I am now without it and the SE service center says it will take some 2 weeks to come up with a resolution.

I hate them. Simple as that.
