I agree with Bonovox. I admire the intent, but these abstract themes (memorial, contradiction) are difficult to describe in words, let alone photographs. Last month's competition only really had one genuine contradictory photo-- Vladislaus's ice candle. People who had different colors in their photo or the like did not truly have a contradiction.

A memorial is an object that serves as a focus for a memory of something, usually a person who has passed away. Other than gravestones, any random picture could claim this. "This photo of my teddy bear reminds me of my dead dog Muggsy." It's just going to be difficult to judge things that are so interpretive.

Just a humble suggestion for whoever wins this next month: choose a theme that is either concrete or is at least easily definable.

Random examples of themes off the top of my head:

Things that go fast (sports cars, planes, birds, rockets, etc.)
Amazing man-made inventions (space shuttle, computers, hadron collider, machines, etc.)
Natural beauty (mountains, ocean, forest, etc.)
Elements: earth, air, fire or water (pick at least 2 for one pic)
Caught in motion (selectively blurred elements in a photo)
Planets (the moon, the earth from a tall vantage, an eclipse, etc)

Just my two cents.

It seems so many people here have bad memories about their past that they can not search for a good memorable thing.

I am also not rejoicing by remembering the past.

But Dont make the word 'memorable' too high that you find yourself in bad memories. Just make it simple. Think of a little things that are important to you. Thats it.

Hi voda_jon

I am sorry but pls read the rules in the first post. Pic must be taken in this month, july 2010. No archeiv pics. Your pic is taken on 30th june. So your entry disqualifies. Pls remove it. You may want to take another memorable thing better than this.
