When you first turn your phone on. The phone checks the signal's it can receive. One test is to check for internet signal. After booting up the G symbol will disappear as the phone is disconnected from the internet. Older A100 and early A200 platform phones showed the G or E symbol constantly along with whatever signal you can receive (along with a symbol for 3g if your in an supported area). Basically. When you're phone is on it should display the standard signal along with either a 3g or H symbol when your in a supported area. When you send a picture message or connect to the internet the G/E symbol appears along with a Globe symbol. This shows your connected to the internet. You will also still see 3g or H symbol as well. When you disconnect from the internet the globe symbol and the G symbol will disappear after a few seconds.
If you want to turn 3g and H off. Go to settings,connectivity,mobile networks and select the connection you want. Turning off the 3g signal when your not using it can also save battery as well. HTH

My phone when it turns on, gets the G shortly after it turns on. Then a while later (a few days) the G goes away and I have just the H and the status bars with no letter above them.
Am I not getting HSDPA Reception then?

HSDPA relates to the type of internet connection available in the area your in. Even though you've not got a data plan in your subscription. Your phone will still search for one and show the symbols.
People have given you the answers you need and there's no other explanation but from what I'm reading it seems no matter what is being said your still not going to accept it. Might as well talk to a brick wall.
