So now when I still didn't get my Z1 I might consider that baby.
Interesting to see the camera.

They should have put 349 €:
It infringed the Nexus 5 live:
The is clearly too expensive, especially since Sony products haircut too slowly (the Z1 is still more than 600 € new, while the G2 is 400 and some: hap:)

Just hook it to my veins! Day one! Bravo Sony, bravo! I mean, we knew the hardware for quite a long time (Z Ultra/Z1), but my mind is still blown. This is what people have been begging for and Sony is the one filling the void, Sony
! Thank you for listening to us, Sony! Bye black Xperia S, hello white Xperia Z1 Compact.

Really excited to see this in store. Are there any negative points, apart from no Xenon?

Well after Sony fixed dispay viewing angles it will be the bazels that most of the haters will point.
The reality is that Z1c is a tad smaller than Xperia V (15.77% less body volume) so a real compact flagship in my oppinion.
Performance wise it should top any other phone to date, and if the next gen flagships will feature 1440p screens it will stay as one of the best performers for 2014.

I don't think there's anything to complain about really, especially when you compare this to mini versions of other brands, frankly speaking. The only concern now would be how good the screen is, I think that's about it. Not unless there's some horrible issue that was overlooked but that seems highly unlikely.
I think this is the first time a mini version of a flagship has retained almost the exact same specs as the flagship itself. Usually mini versions are downgraded versions but not with the case of Z1 compact.

@argiriano
How did you work the volume out? Don't forget that the V was an 'arc' design.
So, is the Z1 Compact almost in a class of it's own? Is there any other non-Sony phone that comes close, size specs wise?

So "mini" is outdated? Welcome compact! I bet other makers will come with other names as well.
The phone is well spec'd! I wonder if it will get pure Android too.

i think sony went away from the "mini" name because everyone else is using it to describe smaller, yet way lower spec'd versions, of their larger sibling. with "compact", I think they hope to make consumers think .. "why isn't a mini?" and when they look closer, they'll see the specs are high in a compact device.
