Macs are better. I have a PC and a Mac and I use the Mac all the time. In fact my PC has been reduced to a DivX player for my TV. It's just a much better user experience on a Mac.

There are a few disadvantages with Mac, tho:
- Hard to find warez if you don't want to buy all your software. But LimeWire has most of it
- They are more expensive than Windos-machines
- As far as I know Motorola is slow at developing faster CPUs. But it's very likely that Apple will switch to IBM's next-gen PowerPC chips
- You will loose your prestigious "geek-title" after you score chicks with your PowerBook

yeh, a few things to have a think about though. How come MAC users allways have to say macs are better and go on about it? i dont see anywhere on the windows site saying hey all mac users, windows is better... maybe it's because windows dont have to?

Umm...maybe because the Mac really is better?

When someone is saying that they are better than you, and you know that it's true, you keep your mouth shut, for your own sake.

Oh, and before you say it: no, Windows is not better because more people use it. There are far more cockroaches on this planet than there are people, but that doesn't mean that the cockroach is a higher life form.

I wish I had never asked now I did not want to start an argument it was just that I was sick to the back teeth with my PC crashing all the time and YES I do keep it healthy all the time and have all the latest anti virus stuff on here but it just gets me that it always seems to crash at the moment of saving work you have spent ages on and then have to start all over again. I do not want something that is so fast that it finishes doing something before I have started it I just want reliable surely that is not to much to ask these days. Ever heard of the Hair and the tortous.

PC are better for games....
Not only are there "a few" more games available but they are also faster when it comes down to fps(fps is GOD).
I think this is because most games are made primarily for the pc and therefore is optimized for the x86 architecture.
Oh and 3dcards are slightly ahead on the pc I believe(this might be wrong).

And windows XP is quite stable.
And computers = more speed per buck.

When i said about keeping it running smoothly i meant using programs like window washer and ad-aware, and not just installing stuff and not properly deleting it, programs these days come with so much shit. Anyway, i do like macs, i think they look sweet, and osx looks sweet, but i just prefer PC's, in fact i prefer having 2 buttons on my mouse with a scroll weel. hehe..

I don't want to be rude but you have obviously NO idea of what you're talking about. I'm using my Logitech MouseMan Wheel with my PowerBook G4 and in my opinion the driver is actually better than the XP driver since there are more ways to configure the different buttons (and it doesn't forget your settings when you update your OS). It's right that Apple only make one-button mice but you can use almost any USB mouse on your Mac so it doesn't really matter. And OS X has native support for two-button mice and so do all OS X apps.

The Mac is not made for games, so if your computer is 90% games console and 10% computer you shouldn't buy a Mac.

All in all I guess it's about personal preferences. I bought a Mac because I believe this is the best computer on the planet and I will never buy a PC again.

If you're using Windows 98 or ME, try 2000 instead. It's a lot more stable.

The biggest problem as i see it, is that PCīs have an open architecture and everyone can and do make hardware for it. It is double-edged in the sense that Microsoft OS runs just fine on hardware that is 100% compatible and 3:rd party software that is well programmed but in the real world, too often you put hardware together that have incompatibility problems and/or install apps that are poorly written that has memory leaks and such. That is a problem Apple donīt have, at least not to the same extent since they make all the hardware themselves. Now the flipside of that coin is that they can charge pretty much what prices they want (and they obviously do too)
I have an old Compaq P75 clunker at home with FreeBSD as a router/firewall/webserver before i recompiled the kernel it had an uptime of 396 days.. Iīm not saying a Mac wouldnīt achive that as well, but _I_ havenīt seen one come close yet
Bottom line: PC -IS FASTER- period and carefully put together and with Windows 2000 or XP at least as reliable as any Mac out there..
I have the deepest respect for OSX *of course, since i run the core OS myself * But i donīt have the money to buy a Mac with the same performance as my PC.. and i doubt that i would spend that much money on a computer even IF i had the money to be honest..
Just my opinion..

Respect!
