I'm not sure what sort of hardware they think we use in the UK but I can not get any of the codes to work with a Sony TV, Sky+, Goodmans TV or Sony DVD!

As to sky o found a brand called UK digital (i presume it's SKY) but when you choose it it pops up with an empty list (usually on other brands it lists things like DVD, TV, VCR, MD.. etc)

Canīt get it to work either, Iīm trying with a Samsung tv-set. There are three alternatives for Samsung, but still wonīt do it. Another thing I noticed was that I thought; well maybe it is not working because my IR is set to off so I tried to turn IR on. Having IR on only resulted in that the program crashes at startup, giving an error code 55-IR or something similar.

This software seems very hit and miss.

I tried it on 6 things last night and it only worked on my philips DVD player. A couple of TV's (matsui) I tried it on were pretty old so I didn't think it would work but my CD player (JVC), Stereo(Aiwa), Main TV (hitachi), and video are only 2 - 4 years old. Does this only support products released in the last couple of years?

Also on my DVD player that it actually worked on I could only get it to work with Well under 2 meters which would make it pretty useless anyway. (though this may be an issue with the p800 IR port).
After playing around with it it is a bit too muchg of a pain to actually point the IR at the machine while also trying to use the stylus to do stuff.

Seemed like such a great idea as well, and if it were more compatible with various brands (older and new) I would still be interested in buying it!

I had a very bad experience of the new beta for IR Remote. I installed, it, rebooted the phone and half my applications disappeared, including Control Panel! I lost the button bar at the top of the screen as well!!! Had to restore from a backup, which seemed to cure everything but I lost two weeks worth of stuff. (Thankfully I sync regularly though, so day-to-day stuff was OK).

Has anyone else had this experience?

Another thing I noticed was that my GPRS got f****d up, uninstalling the program gor things back to normal. More tetsing is definetly needed for this application.
