Well, Nokia agian proved to be very good in releasing unfinished phones. Okay, it can record video, the p800 can't. BUT, to be able to record a videoclip with sound users who have just bought the phone first must install a SIS file first to be able to do that.

@markymark
Name ONE manufacturer of today who releases finished phones?!
SE? Like the t68i and its umpteen fw updates/releases?
P800? Still waiting for the Holy Grail of update to make everything work as it was supposed to in the first place?
Nokia 8310? Mine went back twice in 10 days.. gotta admit that it worked perfectly for a year after that though..
I wish phone manufacturers stopped using end customers as BEta testers!
(Yes that goes for Siemens, Microsoft, Apple and Linux too, so save it, ok)

yeah! the one thing that makes me get really really super pissed off is the 3650 keypad! i mean wtf??

I mean where is the innovation in making your phone keypad look like a totary dial phone?

this key pad is plain butt ugly.

I don't think Nokia should be blamed for having to add a sis file to enable recording with sound. The important thing is that it works, if it takes an extra 5 minutes, I would not have a problem with that.

I cannot understand those who complain about the P800 though. Threex, in your usual style you seem to talk loudly about things I do not think you really know about. Have you ever tried a P800? Used it extensively? What "Holy grail of updates" are you talking about?

Mine has crashed once since I bought it 2 months ago, and that was when running eDoom, that's BETA software. Keep in mind, I am a heavy user of opera and email, along with calendar and contact software. With stable software(ie. NOT BETA) my experience with the P800 has been wonderful, rock solid all the way. I even tried to rattle the system by removing the DUO when using Opera(stored on DUO.) All I got was an error message and Opera quit, I reinserted the DUO and started Opera, everything was fine again.

In my not so humble opinion, the P800 is one of the most stable electronic products I have ever used. It was like going from Windows98 to 2000, it just works. For me that is, I think the people who complain about stability install every other beta/unfinished app that is out there. I find it very hard to belive I am the only one in the world with a stable software.

@Knut.G.
Damn, itīs hard to make a point here at Esato, with all pitbulls and their P800 bones...
I am not complaining about a single model or manufacturer here, just naming a few, and since this is a primarily SE forum, the t68i and P800 springs to mind.
My point again is, i think itīs a bad thing to rush new supposedly cutting edge models before theyīre "ready", and i donīt like being a guinea pig or beta tester for -any- manufacturer, ok? IF i got the phone at a discount for the purpose of evaluating it that would be another story, but if i pay premium price i expect a premium product.
Re. the P800, i have tried it, yes. But i donīt like swiss army knives or phones, so itīs not really for me. Respect to those who want or need one, i just happen not to be one of them. About upgrades and fixes, you must be blind if you havenīt read all the questions, complains and gripes here at Esato?! I donīt doubt that there are loads of P800īs working great out there, even if this is a well respected and large forum, the the phones here are but a piss in Mississippi in respect to the total amount of sold units.
Bottom line: I think that there is today a too high percentage of defect, buggy phones -REGARDLESS OF MANUFACTURER- and -I- would rather wait a couple of months extra than get my new phone and have to send it away two weeks after getting it because of some bug(s) making it not perform as expected. Congratulations if your phone works perfectly, honest! But take a look around here and judge for yourself.
(All the above written really softly except the caps as to not upset anyone )

My question still stands Threex.

What is the big problem that needs "The holy grail of updates"? If you base this on people writing in message forums "MY BLUETOOTH DOESNT WORK1!1!!1" then I suggest you try the product. I think you will find that many of the problems are solved by reading the manual or fixing some software on the PC. However, I have READ about some people having problems with some Bluetooth headsets. As I do not use a Bluetooth headset, I cannot comment on this, but I think the problem lies with the P800, and it will probably be fixed in a later update, if it has not allready. If this is the problem you refer to needing "The Holy grail of updates" then I will hate to see you make an overstatement.

You do spread a bit of FUD on these forums, wether you like to admit it or not, and that is what upsets people. If you do not understand why people get irritated by people over and over again telling them they have a bad product, then you are rather thick. This is a SE forum, where people with SE phones come together to discuss it and perhaps help eachother. What they do not need is people telling them every other minute that they bought a bad product. Saying it one time is one thing, but when people repeat it in post after post it becomes trolling, and I hate trolls.

I know you own a S55 ThreeX, I know this cause you have said countless times how this phone is the best in your opinion, and talking down other phones, primarily SE phones as this is a SE forum. I sometimes wonder why people come to a SE forum when they so clearly do not appreciate their technology, is it because their own brand is so bland or unpopular that noone has bothered to create a forum for them?

Think about it ThreeX, instead of talking down SE all the time, can't you just be happy with what you have, and appreciate the fact thanks to SE, laffen got the inspiration to create this great site and forum.

I've got both a P800 and a 3650. Both have their advantages and disadvantages. Personally, I like the 3650 better. Why? The menus are easier to navigate through. And IMO it is faster than the P800. The 3650 is big but it is VERY light in weight. The camera takes pics that are superior to the P800. I've had my p800 crash several times. My 3650 has NEVER crashed. For the money, you can't beat the 3650. Yes, it's big, but you get use to it.
