when i get my 128 duo i wont let anything be in phone memory except maybe ringtones and file manager and thats it. if the phone breaks down again after that then SE has really let me down

Had kind of the same feeling with my T68m-i, when they worked as they supposed to they where great, ok the "m" had "some more" bugs than "i"
And when they was new we paid quiet a lot for them also, and then they started to go "bananas". Had the shop to take back my T68m since it was so buggy, and kept turning it self off, freeze and all the other known bugs. My thoughts after that was: Nomore a
phone, but less then a month after I happend to see T68i (nicer look and I knew about their improved SW). 10min later I walked out of the store with a white/green box in my hands

As far as I know, we cannot overcharge any mobile's battery and that includes also p800. The battery is charged up to a certain level and then the charging process stops automatically by the phone. What the charger does is a trickle charging and not over-charging.
I believe you are unluky....Demand a new device.
As far as the memory is concerned, mine is full and works fine. So I believe it is a coincidence.

I have a SE P800, its a fun phone to use, has so many possibiliities, when the software is written for it.
However as with any computing device, if you run lots of programs all together, It willlll ssllloooooowwww dooowwnnnn. Its a multitasking OS!
Even though you think that an application is no longer running, because you cannot see it, it will still be running in the background consuming memory and possibly even your battery!
Whilst browsing through the my-symbian.com website looking for programs and tools to put on my loverly phone, I came across "Switcher", originally written for the Nokia's and now available for the P800, it allows you to see what programs are running, how much memory they are using and how much is free, and if necessary terminate an application coz if you hadn't noticed not many programs give you the option to exit when you have finished or when the app has crashed.
So terminating apps your nolonger using can free up memory, thus restore the phone back to a usable state. (Generally!)
I find terminating an app then freeing memory twice gives me most of my memory back.
Where possible use the External Duo to store stuff including installed apps and leave as much as possible free on your internal, you would be supprised how much memory gets used up when do things on the phone.
I find Switcher useful when I accidently run an app, I terminate it, to free up the memory again.
