Based on your advice I called o2 up to enable my pay as you go sim for GPRS, only to be told to use the GSM WAP as they did not allow GPRS on pay as you go sims??
any ideas?

Send the settings out to your own phone - the link is
http://amber.smarttrust.com/O2UK/index.jsp.
Hopefully GPRS will be set up on your sim - if not you'll have to call back and *insist* that it is added.
The reason they are saying it is not supported is the fact we can't charge members yet - some advisors are taking this to mean we should lie. However, I was recently at GPRS training where they told us to say it is a promotion and let people use it as opposed to lies.

If they wont activate gprs for wap just ask them to enable it for mms. Payg users try this: ring the top up line (4444) and press 1 to top up via voucher. It will then say press 1 to continue, press 2 and you get the option to phone the customer service line, choose that and you will get connected for free. Hope everyone understands that lol.

Do exactly as he says and you get to watch in wonder as they refuse to help you and advise you to call the paid line.
Just so everyone understands

too true... bit of a bummer really... most people are catching on now. As far as GPRS provisioning goes that's bull... most new SIMs come pre-provisioned and if not should be.

Well, i phoned up a few days ago and asked if they could enable MMS on my phone, and they provisioned my SIM for both MMS and GPRS, so now i can use both, but not at once : ) Even though alot of people have given them bad reviews the person i talked to at customer service seemed fully confident of what he was doing and he helped me out brilliantly.

call back and ask whoever you speak to to send an email to the person you spoke with last... Everyone deserves some good feedback if they've done a good job.
