Hi guys.
Don't mess up the EMMA 2-server. That was not my intention when I posted this topic! I just wondered what that site was, and now we know. Please leave it alone! Thanks!

I wasn't accusing anyone of messing, just making sure lurkers etc know the score. I can remember when Hardlock was implemented at Ericsson. Working in the IT Dept I was among the team that spent considerable time and effort setting it all up. It's not just used by service centers, it's used in nearly every stage of production and so is essential to the manufacture of handsets. Think of the consequences if this all had to be changed.

From the site:
To use EMMA II it is necessary to connect both a hardlock and flash programming equipment to the PC.
2.1 Hardlock
The hardlock, product number KRY 105 165, must be connected to a parallel port on the PC.
Please take note that there are two different hardlocks used for maintenance of Ericsson GSM mobile phones. One hardlock allows software upgrade of a mobile phone and swap of customer unique data. The second hardlock allows some additional service operations such as Channel Indicator settings etc.
Depending on the hardlock used, you may or may not be able to use all of the features in EMMA II.
2.2 Flash Programming Equipment
There are several types of flash equipment provided by Ericsson for the various types of mobile phones. This release of EMMA II supports both the NTZ 112 311 (for 4v phones), and the NTZ 112 334 (for 3v phones) programming interfaces. If you use the NTZ 112 311 interface you will also need a programming cable that is compatible with the mobile phone.
Please take note of which COM port on the PC the interface is attached to, since preferred port can be set in configuration settings for EMMA II.
The flash programming equipment, with or without an additional flash programming cable is further referred to as the programming equipment.
