Just for the hell of it I ordered one today. When I get it I will post my findings. If it is junk I will hopefully be able to get my 80 dollars back on ebay.

I can tell you exactly what this is, how it works and why you would want one, so here goes:

It's a replacement battery cover that comes with a 'standard' Memory Stick port, this is connected to the P800 using a little ribbon cable that fits underneath the battery, and slots into the exisiting Duo slot. This stops you using Duos while it's connected.

The P800 only supports standard Memory Sticks, ie 128MB, anything bigger than that is a Memory Stick Pro, which the P800 does not support, but it would be possible to address this in firmware, I think, although I doubt very much that this will happen.

The main reason you would buy and use this would be if you already had a whole bunch of standard memory sticks, and didn't want to have to buy a whole load of Duos.

If you had bothered to check the post from earlier today, you would have seen both the circuitry and the ribbon cable that this uses to connect, everyone would have been happy, but I wouldn't have been given the chance to show off my new knowledge.

Moral of this story:
Use the search, use common sense, and be nice to each other

Cheers

Yeah I got all that in my limited ability to understand.

I was just wondering if anyone had practical experience with the thing, i.e., does it work, size issues, etc.

But thanks for your input in any event.
