When they say recalled due to software issue I think they actually mean the hiss. I recommended the T610 to a guy at work and he ordered one on T-Mobile from an online retailer but was then told that they had been recalled due to the hiss and that it would be about two weeks before they had stock again.

SE took back the T610 we had to rework them... We have received back 200 back so far and another 350 today and 350-500 thurs/fri...

Good news !
We are pleased to inform you that the Sony Ericsson T610 will be back in stock on Thursday 19th June. All orders shall be despatched same day for delivery on Friday 20th pre-12 noon. An e-mail confirmation with despatch reference shall follow later, once connected.
