so far that ive encountered once with mine was a dark line tho not as long as that one u got.. but i figured it was the light. u seem to have somethin serious there

I had the line after charging the phone. It has now gone, as mentioned by one of the earlier posters. The rectangle box, is about the size of the clock display in the screensaver and I got the line only after charging the phone while switched off. It was charged overnight and I reckon it might be a burn in mark as seen on LCD projection TV's. As for the permanent line, I have no idea.

I have a line, but my line is in vertical, not horizontal like yours.
I can see better the line in minigolf game and in the camera. My T610 is 03W16.
