before you take the pic.. i.e. while you are getting what you want to take into fram, move the joystick up all the way and then move it down all the way. The changes are subtle but definitly there and do make quite a difference.

hrm, this is wierd! i have just tried it.. and it does not seem to work at all.
could somebody else in perth try? to see if it is my phone or the australian model? im took to pictures of the same thing one when i pushed the joystick down 10 times and one when i put it up 10 times
and the photos seem to be exactly the same brightness?
is theri another setting to do with this?

You only noticed this when in a indoor condition, eg in in your room at night, try point to the lamp, then move your joystick up or down and you will notice the lighting difference.

nah, I am in my office here in Frankfurt with bright sunshine streaming in and I can see the change on screen quite clearly.
I don't think there are any other settings that affect this, it even works in night mode.

the crackling sound when using a bluetooth headset is a software problem which has been rectified in the new firmware R1L which is already out. get ur t610 flashed with this latest firmware and ur crackling problem will be gone... or so i've heard.
@ProficienT
when in camera mode moving ur joystick up and down chages the contrast.
