@mannequin

I agree RE: the central London Map, however, when you buy the app, there is a piccie, so you do know what you're getting. Like you say, a better map soon please....

Sorry to hear a few of you guys are struggling to get the street map to load in the pro version of Tube London. We cannot recreate the problem here with any of our P800's so would appreciated some further feedback on this.

The background: To decompress & open the street map 3.8MB of RAM is required, this should not present a problem on the P800 unless a memory hungry or several apps are running. If the memory (RAM) is not available Tube asks the user if they wish to close other running app's, however, it does this my sending a close request to all open applications. Any application can choose to ignore this close event if it feels its in a state that it can't exit. If another app is not closing and hanging on to too much memory turning off/on the P800 and starting Tube first should enable the map to load.

It would be very useful if anyone who has problems loading the street map could email me at support@visualit.co.uk with:-
1) A list of 3rd party apps they have installed on their P800's
2) The firmware revision of the phone.
3) The memory used / available on the device.

Many thanks. John Hawkes Visual IT Mobile Solutions.

BTW For those who are asking, good news a larger (tiled) A-Z street map of London is on the way.

Thanks John for VisualIT taking us users needs seriously! Much appreciated. I know you request the info via email, but a post here will help others too...

My F/W is in my signature below. I have a 16MB MSD.

I have FileMan/HomeRun/Solitaire/JavaMSN/JWorm/jZip/MIB II/MIDI Booster/MobiPocket Reader/More viewers/OggPlay/Psiloc minGPS/PsiNT eLib and Helper/Sman 1.1a/Stunt Run/ Tube London Pro/twinfruits and WorldMate.

There's 3.9MB free on c:

I switched my P800 on this morning from a 10 sec off-button reboot, then used the phone with Email/SMS/Solitaire/Sman and JavaMSN.

Sman 1.1a says Free RAM = 6044KB, after a memory-flush, and with just Flipkeypad and SMan running (on starting the phone, free RAM is usually 8800Kb).

Fileman memory information says 63% usage (10420KB, free 5964KB).

INTERESTINGLY, repeated use and SMan killing of FileManager eats ca. 15-20KB!!

Anyway, trying to run Streetmap now....Ba, - the memory low error...tapping 'yes' doesn't bring up the map. Rail's ok, as is tube.

Phone off, NOT the 10 sec way, just the off button. Wait 10-15 secs, and on again.

SMan says 8872KB free RAM...

.....Streetmap loads....

So there you have it....

I'll email you this too.

Cheers, Steven.

I am experiencing this problem on my p900. i have closed all the programs and still cannot get the London Tube Pro - Street Map only to work. The others work fine. I have also restarted the phone several times and still no luck.

i have installed it onto my MS Duo. I have tracker taskman which reports 7.17m Memory free. And HandyDay which reports 12.1m phone and 48m MS Duo free.

The only way i could get it to work was to turn off the phone and then launch it on re-start, running on a P900 with the standard Orange firmware release, with no other programs running. Maybe if u disabled any backgrounds/wallpapers it might run cos they r gonna be using memory up.
