yes, laffen is Norwegian I believe.

I don't really get what you're trying to say though. If you dispute my answer then lets discuss. As my sig says... "...Unless I'm very much mistaken" and even I am not perfect and can be mistaken!

If I'm not mistaken the Sony Ericsson merger was in the works much earlier than the birth of Esato. Maybe laffen got a heads up before Sony and Ericsson "officially" announced the merger.

I'm sure there are many words/business names/site names you could search on google that would come up with all sorts of different results.

The fact remains that laffen created this site and he gave his own answer as mentioned earlier in this thread so that is the end of it, surely?

He, he...
It's funny how some topics seem to come back over and over.
Let's get this straight right away:
Esato does actually not mean any thing. He announced that himself at the Esato gathering we had here in Norway this spring. It's just a 5 letter word that is easy to say in most languages and just happened to be avalable as a .com domain at the time. Where he got it from as still a unanswered question.
Only Take A Sony Ericsson is a meaning that came later, wether it was Laffen or a member who came up with it I'm not sure of. But Laffen has accepted it as the meaning of the name.
Just for the record Laffen is Norwegian.

Fair enough tranquil, I can go for that. Strange why laffen didn't elaborate on the whole story when he answered the question "what does ESATO mean" in this thread.

Still, we have the whole story now!
