6 weeks, sounds like quite a long time. Maybe something went wrong during the flashing.

I always get my phone upgraded within 30 minutes. (Ok, one time they had a lot to do so I had to leave the phone there and then come back 5 hours later). But that's the longest I've had to wait for a software upgrade.

yeah well it would prolly be easier if there was a service point in every city I have no choise I have to send it in and trust them to send it
back asap. They prolly prioritise ppl who stand and wait.
Theres alot of ppl who do not live near a place they can go to and
get upgrade while they wait and many ppl can't be w/o their phone
more then a cpl of hours thats the main reason I think they should
make it simplier for ppl to do the upgrade them self.
I had to buy myself a T610 cause I couldn't wait for the T68i to get back. (Not that I regrett the T610 but most ppl don't have the choise to buy a new phone because they have to be w/o their otherone, I have a work where I use the cellphone alot so they paid for the T610 fortually)

p.s If anyone know of a good place in Gävle sweden that upgrades
phones while you wait let me know my gf is studying there and could
bring my phone.

some of us (who live in london) probably forget that we have so many priveliges (in return for our smog-clogged lungs)-- even here the SE service centres are sparse - Eltham etc, but spare a thought for the poor souls reading these forums who love their fones and wanna keep em up to date, yet live miles........ from anywhere

@dw

I understand that everybody don't have a service point near. But 6 weeks for sending it in sounds like a really long time. I mean 2 weeks is acceptable but 6 weeks...

The store been telling me 'It should be back any day now' after the first 2weeks they told me it could take.
I went and bought a T610 cause I couldn't be without a phone
but I did not get it at the store thats been feeding me this bs.

oh well sorry for going slight off topic but it was just to explain
why I feel so strong for to enable ppl to upgrade firmware them self.

S/E make products that appeal to early adopters.
Some early adopters don't live near service points.
If S/E is going to put out phones with faulty firmware, then us early adopters who realize that other companies either

1. Release products with fewer bugs (Samsung)
2. Release products that are easily upgraded (Siemens, Handspring).

will buy elsewhere so we're not stuck with non-functional phones.

I'm not talking about those who upgrade the firmware "just-to-have-the-latest", I'm talking about we people who want products that don't freeze, reset continually, or refuse to place or accept calls. S/E has released some firmware that, in my opinion, should have never made it past the quality control team.
