The clue as said previously (For Vodafone users) is that it seems like you HAVE to have at least a GPRS1 account with them, the none-subscription GPRS service (Free one) does not allow pop3 email access.

I bet I can't get Vodafone to tell me this on the phone...

The free Vodafone GPRS Plan will not work!

Hi,
if you still haven't got Email working over GPRS, it's probably because the GPRS plan your are on doesn't provide that feature. All you need to do is phone your service provider and upgrade your plan. In the case of Vodafone this is GPRS 1 and above.

This is madness!

I have EVERYTHING working on my T68i - see other posts on this subject. It took me absolutley f*****g ages!!!

Anyway, having sorted it all - GPRS wap on UK vodafone, BTOpenworld and ntlworld POP3 email via GPRS on Vodafone too, and feeling pretty chuffed by the whole thing, I figured I set my wife's T39m up the same way.

What happens? wap is cool and works like it should. But when I try and connect using GPRS for email, I get the dreaded 'GPRS parameters not supported'! I'm using identical configurations (over and above those supplied by the WWW SE configurator).

What *is* going on?! Maybe I need an IP address for the APN 'internet'. Anyone have this?

B*****d thing!

Steven.

I am on the basic GPRS starter plan and have no problems accessing email with the built in client (with IMAP4 though).

Best thing to do is use the sony ericsson configurator on the website, it sends you two messages and once done mine worked straight away. Better than messing with the settings yourself only to find "Finding Server" displayed forever and a day.
