Bart your missing the point. The T610 has been sold to us (the consumer) as being a Bluetooth enabled phone ready to use with a Bluetooth headset.
Now I can only speak for myself but my phone is NOT usable with a bluetooth headset as the static / crackle is so bad.
If we put enough pressure on

the will have to do something about it.
There are plenty of respectable consumer groups around that would be very interested in this petition if we get enough people to sign it.
The last thing

will want is bad Publicity.
And in the mean time I am taking my case to Trading standards as Consumer law clearly states
'Items which are sold should be fit for the purpose they were intended for'
It's all well and good saying petitions dont work, your waisting your time etc etc. But whats the harm in trying? It only takes about a minute to sign the petition, so if nothing comes of it you've waisted a minute out of your life!
Stop pissing on my bonfire and be a bit more positive

I don't think

are working on a fix.
I'm 99% sure this is a hardware issue.

have already lost a lot of money by having to implement a hardware fix for the hiss problem on the earlier models. So to admitt there is another hardware issue it will cost the a hell of a lot of money.
Places like Celestica or other Authorised service centres cannot fix these phones, they carry out procedures documented by
So a hardware fix for the Bluetooth crackle problem would have to be designed by

techies, documented and then distributed to all the authorised service centres globally. In addition to the costs incurred there

will have to foot the bill for every T610 repair, which would run into millions, maybee even tens of millions.

have tried to fudge over the fault with the cheaper alternative of a firmware upgrade. Its takes less time to carry out a software upgrade as opposed to a hardware fix. A hardware fix would take more time and more skill to implement which drives repair costs up and to top it off you have the price of the components to consider.
So if you think that they are working on a fix for the static/crackle problem then why do they deny this fault has ever been reported to their helpdesk? And how comes the last firmware upgrade R1L has improved the problem on some peoples phones?
They are trying to ride this storm out with minimum costs to them

!Rant Over!

I know if it is a hardware problem I feel sorry for SE. T610 is the hottest phone in europe, and to have a big portion of them already fixed for this hiss, and now to have them fixed for this... ouch !
I hope SE doesn't use an Apple attitude of ignorning problems, and pretending that everything is O.K.
Don't get me wrong I love both companies to death !

Dantec - they are doing just that... "we are not aware of this fault"

Have noticed the same problem here on my T610 with HDW-2 headset, and have just logged a fault with the local (Australian) SE support (I bought my phone outright) to see if they'll upgrade from R1A to R1L (or whatever current is at the moment) under warrenty...
Fingers crossed it'll resolve the problem....
Might be worth seeing if we can run a poll somewhere to see what firmware levels the problems exist (and what headsets).... find out if the problem is firmware, headset or T610 hardware....
I suspect given that BT is still fairly new in implementation it'll be in the order listed, so at least it's fairly easy to fix the first one as the latter two are really painful !

Does anybody know any other boards the URL to the petition can be posted on?
We need more signatures!
