I'll tell you what Dragonfly, if you are seriously a software developer for the P800 and are ready for the challenge, do this:

Find a way to remove the Operator Logo and replace it with one of my choice! I will pay you US$100 if you can do it...I GUARANTEE YOU! Surely if you managed to conjure up a T9 application in a couple of weeks this should be childs play for you.

I await your reply.

Not to be sceptical DragonFly, cos God knows if you developed a T9 type application I would be the first to buy it, BUT what did you mean by that quote ?

Cos if you meant you've had a P800 for ages... then I'd like to know where in SA did you get it because it was only sold by the networks (and SE self) from April 2003.

Oh yea guys, just another interesting bit, CIC who created the handwriting recognition on the P800 (Jot) ( http://www.cic.com ) stated in their 2002 press release that they would make WordComplete available for the P800 in late 2003. Wondering where the release is? Find it here:

hmmmm
cld u hv just continued this thread in here cldnt u?
maybe ur gonna make another thread for every single picture of ur autocomplete software

it's not T9, it's autocomplete..
I dont doubt the amount of time taken to make this, I believe it's real
cuz autocomplete is not hard to make
think I'm bluffing? u want the logic behind it?
sure

I'll make it quick tho

retrieves last word (being typed), gets the first letter, goes through the library, finds matches, gets second letter, reduces matches, and so on
and u can select from the matches found

am I wrong?
if so.. correct me

In Fibanocci's terms - Heres a simple logic.

If text = he
then view (in a window)
Window display he, her, hello

or if want it to autocomplete

if text = he
then write he, her, hello

---------------------

obviously there is more to it, but theres the simple logic
-----------------------------------------------------

right, i got the P800 in January, there is a Cellular Shop around the
corner from me that does Grey Imports and i bought it through them.
plus what difference does it make when i bought it, i used that statement to sustain my answer when i only found esato 3 weeks ago.
just because i found esato 3 weeks ago - does not mean i only got my P800 3 weeks ago...

@DragonFly

I just misunderstood what you were saying, sorry for that.

Interestingly enough I received a reply from CIC about the WordComplete for SE P800:

We are prepared to port that program over for Sony Ericsson however they have so far declined do to Rom constrictions. We can not pruduce it for the consumer market until we have a much larger base to market to. Please let Sony Ericsson know of your wishes and hopefully we can get it on a future device in the ROM.
-------------cut-------------

Looks like we need to start begging SE for this, as WordComplete works with handwriting recognition as well.
