However, I do agree with him that there are far too many
w@nkers out there who ask Dikhead questions. That if they would only bother to RTFM (Read The F__king Manual) they could discover for themselves.
I am quite IT literate and often get friends asking my questions re mobiles and computers. But then I have some friends, like one who called me today, who are damn lazy; they think they can go out buy shiny new toys and that they should work automatically without any input from themselves. And should they come across the slightest hiccup they will just phone me for the answer. What happens?
Because they have not bothered to RTFM, the question they have asked me only solves part of the problem so they end up having to phone me "ten million times" for me to feed them bit by bit with little bits of info (based on the questions they are asking). If they RTFM they could solve the problem and perhaps a few others along the way.
My dear friend phoned me today regarding his P800 with this fukking Dick Head question: "I have put a new SIM card in my phone, how do I make calls from the SIM....?" I thought to myself "wot a kunt". So what do you think I did? Yes, I told him to RTFM and hung up on him. He's my friend but if he acts like a kunt I will treat him like one.
No one has any business phoning me asking me such a simple question. Its basic stuff that I wouldn't expect a child to ask me.

Oh how I hate it.
It's intellectual dwarfism. And often leads people to jumping to the wrong conclusions.
When Vermania said "A. Is being gay an insult if so you have offended forum members" he WAS NOT being homophobic. I AM AT A TOTAL LOSS AS TO HOW ANYONE CAME TO THAT CONCLUSION.
It CLEAR that what he was asking - rhetorically - was whether the guy who suggested he needs a girlfriend was being homophobic because if one is gay one wouldnt have a girl friend would they? Now that seemed pretty clear to me.

As to whether Vermania has been homophobic or rude in the past I cant really say.

I do support the general thrust here in this thread, namely that we should all try to help each other out.
And just because some of us are more knowledgeable than others it doesnt mean that those who ask questions to which we knew the answers years ago are dumb.
6.
However, some questions can be universally recognised as dumb where for example the answer could be gleaned in five minutes from (a) the manual or (b) manufacturer's website
