I emailed Symbianware about the release of Tracker 3 and got this response:

Hi Simon,

many thanks for your email and for your interest in our product "Tracker".
We plan the next release V3 in some days

Best regards,

Boris

So should be out soon!

Also I have used Tracker 2 religiously ad have never experienced any battery problems!

If it's as good as it looks, I'm definitely switching from Handy Day. I've been using both Handy Day 4.0 and Tracker 2.0 for about 7 days now and have been waiting for either of them to release a new version so I could make up my mind. Looks like my mind's made up

So nice to see a thoughtful, caring and considerate individual amongst the users. It really made my day when I read your concern.

I'd like to reassure you, and other avid readers of this forum, that I think the fault may actually belong to the software itself. Y'see I've had access to several P800's, 50% using Tracker, the other 50% not, and I'm affraid to say that those running Tracker did show a significant increase in power drainage.

Of course one must use common sense here and realise that Tracker is a TSR program, and so will obviously consume more power. But of course, one would have hoped not as much.

Again, my thanks for your caring words, and I only hope that one day I can offer the same comforting, caring and thoughtful words in return that you have shown me.

Here's wishing you a happy evening,

Your dear friend,

JMH

I have tried HandyDay 3.6 and 4.0, Tracker 2 and ActiveDesk 2.0.1 (nobodies talk about that program here?). All of them for 1 week too.

Tracker did sure use more power then the rest, and was much slower then HandyDay. I found the letter (too small) and stylish (not very easy to "read") they used in Tracker for the 'Today view' really not good. And it is the important part for me! Those one in HandyDay are bigger and 'readable' at a distance.
I know a lot of you don't use the TodayView as standard. That's in fact what i was looking for in a desktop software for the P800.

HandyDay allows you to use only one "window", tracker do gives you 2. That was in my case and need not 'really' usefull, more a gadget, but it can be easy, now that we get the possibilty to use bigger icons, the old one wasn't any good with his to small icons.
You can't change the position of the icons on the screen, that's a pitty, but not so important there you allready need the center of the 'TodayView' informations.

Activedesktop is something between the 2.

For all those reason, i did chose for HandyDay 4.1. But i will try Tracker 3 to see if there are changes in all the problems i found using the version 2.0

I agree that Handy Day 4.0's one Today screen is more powerful and practical than the two screens of Tracker 2.0. I also like the fact that you can change the font size of the Handy Day 4.0 Today screen but I think the true power of Tracker lies in its customizability. If I'm not mistaken, this is something which will be even more emphasized in Tracker 3.0.

It's a tough choice really and I don't want to keep using both Handy Day and Tracker at the same time because that really defeats the purpose of having one desktop program from which to do everything.
