Please can someone help me out here, i dont understand the difference between a "clam shell" and a "flip phone". I always thought they were exactly the same kind of phone.
Can you put up a link to show me a type of each phone so i can work out the difference from looking.

flip is the thin piece of plastic (usu for mouthpiece) type cover that normally breaks off.
eg.
clamshell the whole phone folds in half (usu screen top half, keyb bottom half)

Actually (at least on the z600 I played around with) there really wasnīt that much of a difference display-wise between it and the t610.. ALL STN/TF* screens i have seen so far is more or less hard to read in glaring sun.
And for the poster calling the z600 huge: you must have a hand the size of a rabbit-foot...
Not what I would call huge..

It is a tad thick when closed, but i certainly wouldnīt mind if someone donated a z600 to me...

congrats on the purcase. The T610 has a longer stand by time and i prefer block phones also the Z600 dosn't have ringer profiles for people calling (www.phonescoop.com), so good on you, but with the Z600 you can have a video recorder
