I've had my z600 for several weeks now and have no problems accessing WAP or GPRS using the old voicestream gateways.

On the other hand, I haven't been able to get to T-Zones in a couple of months -- even with my old T39. When I last talked to T-Mobile Data Support, they said it was a problem at their end.

It must be, as the phone works with every other provider world wide.

Knowing T Mobile, this may take a while to get sorted

I get T-Zones just fine on my t610 here in Chicago, but if I switch over to the z600 - no go.
Thoughts?

Don't switch?

Or else... switch providers.

If the problem is indeed to do with the network configuration of T Mobile, there is no easy fix I'm afraid.

Me, I am getting the Z600 but abandoning T Mobile

So, get this. I still cannot get anything online directly on the Z600 throught the T-Zones GPRS. On a whim, I thought I would connect my UX50 to it to see if it would work. Sure enough, I can surf the web and check email on my UX50 using my Z600 as a bluetooth modem. Which is actually fine by me, because I would never surf on the phone or check emails on that thing anyway, especially since I have the UX50.

Just an FYI.

I too am using a z600 and UX50 with T-Mobile. I dont have a problem accessing wap pages on my phone or using GPRS to access other pages as well. I figured out that i need to use the T610 phone driver on my UX50 to get that up and running as well.

The only strange little problem I seem to be having is not being able to log on to an IRC server with UpIRc on my UX50. I cant imagine why switcing the phone from a p800 to a Z600 would have anything to do with it. I can surf just fine on the UX50 and email and whatnot. Anyways I tried both APN's wap.voicestream.com and internet2.voicestream.com both work fine for me.

If the other person with the UX50 and Z600 using T-mobile can check to see if they can use UpIRC ... i'd much appreciate it! =)

thanks

I honestly don't know what I am talking about, but would it be a Java sockets thing? I mean the P900 and the Z600 use completely differeny OS'es. It makes sense that things would work on the P900 but not the Z600.

I am looking to buy a z600. I was wondering what you think of it compared to the t610: the pros and the cons to the upgrade. Also, where did you buy it? I've been looking all around but I can't find a cheap vendor and T-mobile told me that they dont sell it yet (even though they told me that they're "phasing out the t616").

Thanks

Since you're talking about the T616 I am going to assume you're in the USA. Of course, it would be useful to mention this next time

IMHO the Z600 is an excellent choice. It's slighlty faster than the T616 and has a slightly brighter screen, other than that it is basically the same phone...... however I love it

Try . to see what price they sell it for

Or else see if there is any network deal going on (check amazon.com)

Good luck
