I wouldnt be dumb enough to pay ~3 times whats its worth. Can you see $UCKER written across your forehead when you look in the mirror?

Or it might be possible he sees high disposable income?

where do you get off judging people on your own standards? I work in Thailand, I could laugh at what you guys get to live in for a 100k while all day long you guys would laugh at the fact I get to pay double for crap phones and 3x for the good ones with little to no support.

Only lately has this disparity decreased due a falling out between the two biggest companies/monopolies, so I was fortunate to get the p800 for 800 dollars with no upgrades ever, wow what a steal.

it is a SKETCH situation

You ever think they have that developer membership with mobility world that lets them buy this phone now? In other words it probably is a prototype, or really early version.

Developpers can buy it from the 27th onward, not earlier. US$ 650.00

Is it really that hard to think that may have learned from theri experience with the P800.... and this time announced when the phone was actually ready for sale?

I am amazed at this total obsession with newbies. Ppl that don't post a whole lot are not necessarily newbies to the mobile world or even to the forum. get over it already!

As for whether or not condones this early sale... at such a price, why wouldn't they?

because of legal issues (that can get rather costly) I promise you no self respecting business will sell products if not yet allowed by the manufacturer.

Seriously guys..... the first P800s were rather costly as well.... and since there is always a market (people that MUST have it at all costs) the first phones are sold ahead of the rest and at a high price.

Nowt wrong with this at all, if I had the money I'd have gotten one too.

Finally: congrats on your purchase, let us know what you think of it

To clear things up I'm expected to get this thing delivered UPS by noon today which is US Central Standard Time. With that said a couple members made some interesting notes about how many users on this board have obtained their P800s... First of all I purchased my P800 a bit over 9 months ago... I had to pay the street price at the moment as I had to purchase the phone overseas (over $1000 USD). P800s are not carried by ANY mobile phone carriers to-date.. However, many members on this board buy their phones on contract and pay about a 1/4 of the street price. So when any phone is purchased non-contract expect to pay more. I could afford to pay that much for the P800 back then and this P900 isn't any different. I paid a lot more for the T68 and T68i (unlocked) when it was first released in Europe because again the US didn't carry those models until 5 months after their initial release. I think a lot of members on contract don't understand the economics behind sales of these phones.. Its simple supply and demand... These are not prototype models to begin with. They are the latest models that everyone will eventually get (initially). Being that very few carriers have it and demand is high that is why they can put that initial price tag on it. Until you can find it everywhere will the price of it go down.. Economics 101 - some of you figure it out.. If you can't afford it now don't make excuses about why you wouldn't by it now.. I'm sure if you could you would purchase one now for the fact that all stores may not have it for a few months yet. I paid $800 USD for the first PS2 released in Japan, but again it wasn't available until about 8 months later in the US. It wasn't a prototype, but I had to pay more because there were no competitors in the US market that had the item to even compete with cheaper prices. If your local market don't carry the item expect to pay more for it. If you want an item and can own it now that is no big deal no one is twisting your arm to get it now.. Wait for weeks before it goes on sale or on contract.. But how long most are willing to wait depends on wether they can afford it or not. I don't think its that excuse that most have reported.

u know who this dude reminds me of?
BongoBoy
totally trying to show off that he can afford stuff
may I explain something to u mr I am so knowledged about everyone in this forum
a lot of the ppl that post here can very well afford 1500 for a phone
it's a question of y do that when u can buy it 1 day later for almost half the price?
I'm purchasing my P900 tomorrow for like 800$USD (if I can get into contact with my friend in dubai)
not that I can afford 1500.. but y wld I bother?
and again
I still dont understand how these ppl hv so many in stock unless they r stolen
cuz SE wldnt gv out more than 1 per company under NDA
and as vlamm said, dev edition is released on the 27th
