I finally heard back from SonyEricsson. They told me that they have left out the 'Find Contact' option for the T610.
I thought upgrades were supposed to add stuff, not take away...

It works great on my Z600. I go to Shortcuts->Edit shortcuts->Call contact->position 1. When I then press the left joy I get a screen where i can type in the full name and then search for it.
It also works if I'm holding down a number (i.e. 4 for G). i guess this doesn't work if you have "Quick dial" enabled.

I do not think that you can change what happens when you move your joystick to the right, up or down...
I do not know how they on the unofficial club got the right key to open "find contact" but perhaps they got a beta phone?¿?
I have RC3 and when I press right I just go to the screen with the 12 icons...

joystick-left is open for users choice, go to "my shortcuts" & "edit shortcuts" - check "call contact" and give it position 1 when asked.
Obviously it would be better if by pushing joystick down coming to contacts directly, seem to work with some phones, I'm having Movistar (Spain) and its my understanding there's where the problem ís.
Anyone who know how to set the phone to Joystick_down=call contact?
