As much as I hate Micros***t(God forgive me for saying it!), you guys have to admit that it DOES give you more flexibility in terms of software. Personally I prefer the PALM OS over symbian AND ppc.

yes I admit MS is great but it's mostly because they have the $$$ to spend. If there's one thing I don't like in MS it's their tight integration of softwares like can really ruin the comp/CP because of one bug in their software.

I'm waiting for the day for developers to make good quality releases for symbian + uiq

what the ... what makes you say windows hangs a lot?

i have 4 windows xp computers at home. one has been a trouble-maker, due to the first athlon cpu it uses. (heat heat heat).

the other windowses run just fine, the much-quoted blue screen of death never showed up.

you're all still thinking windows 95/98, which were truly a bag of poo.
but the NT->2000->xp line has been solid all the time.

maybe if you wouldn't install so many freeware and shareware apps ...

okay, back to ms smartphones: there is no blue screen in there. the first two models (currently spv/tanager and spv e100/smart amazing phone, qtek7070) are pretty solid as well, although they seem to have some performance issues. you see the "please wait/loading" icon once in a while. all of the reviews i've seen of the upcoming third make (spv e200 / voyager / spv2) are noted to run a lot faster.

heck, my t68i crashes more than my desktops !!!

i may seem like a MS-nut, but i'm definately not. i'm just allergic to people repeating the same things over and over again without noticing that the world keeps on spinning, and that things evolve.
i say show respect where respect is due.

this is also something that scares me a little in regards of my desire to buy the p900 ... the whole symbian thing seems to me like a little software-group. i am afraid that there will some day be no more updates/improvements due to the fact that they're so small.

when i look at the windows smartphone OS, i get the feeling there's a large power behind it who wants to make it a success. call it force, call it devotion, microsoft is going to do everything it can to invade the phone-os market. and that is something that sort of gives me faith.

i had a psion s5, and about 2 years after i got it, i heard that there would be no more psion. great. shell out a huge amount of money, and the company is dead. no matter how good the operating system or devices were, they're from that moment on leftovers, and "geek-ware".
no developer who wants to make money will focus on this platform anymore, the result is a system that will not grow anymore.

this is something i'm afraid of in regards of symbian. they've been around for a while, true, but will they be able to keep playing the phone-os-game?

besides that, UIQ feels to me a little childish, not mature. but that's definately a personal matter, don't flame me for it

i am still undecided ... p900 or spv2

what do you think=?
