Sa mga post d2 sa esato ang sbe ng mga nandun sa dubai e 2599dhs daw sya - conversion is *15 so lumalabas na 38985k sya. do you think its reasonable? Thanks all!

Ok na yan, it's just in the same range as the P800 when i came out.
But my concern is my current budget... can't afford to buy one now.

Skrue, as long as you get it from an authorized dealer that's fine... if it's a gray market unit... it might not be worth it since we still don't know of any manufacturing bugs that the P900 may have. The few thousand pesos you save might not be worth the headache if you get a (knock on wood) defective unit.
And since we still don't know the price of the P900 here in the Phil... you might be buying abroad for no reason.
Maybe in the past, the UAE was cheaper...but now that Semicon is really an authorized dealer... and the Philippines is a significant market of SE, we actually get our units at a decent price.

@jplacson
authorized dealer ko naman nabili un p8 ko e, and bsyds me int'l warranty sya. my mistake was not asking for it...nabili ko sya ng 1st day of release and un implementation ng int'l warranty was done weeks later. ok lang naman e. almost lahat ng shops naman dun e authorized dealers, xcept for a place there na parang grinhills. the best thing in looking for cellphones there is nde lang nokia ang madalas mung makita dun, d 2lad d2. mlapit na dec. at papunta na ako ng cellphone heaven hehehe

Hi guys.
Thanks for the illuminatin replies. It does seem like a bad idea to buy grey units from Greenhills or any other non-authorized dealer. I just might buy a P900 when it comes out.
With that said, i have another question:
Are there any other authorized dealers aside from Semicon that could give the same warranty on replacements and services? Does Sony Ericsson have satellite branches in Metro Manila that also directly sell their phones? If so, buying directly from them may also guarantee as a quality assured product and may even come out as cheaper without the add-on cost that the dealers put on their prices.
I guess it helps that we have all the best options.
Cheers.

Cyclops... SE keeps pretty good control over their prices... so most dealers and authorized shops will sell them pretty much within the same price range... you might be able to save a few hundred pesos if you shop around.
SE practises a global pricing scheme so units will usually just get MORE expensive if they are sold on the gray market.
By the time they get cheaper, Semicon usually drops prices as well... my sis was able to get her T68i with MCA-25 for P12,500 from Semicon.
I got my P800 from Globotel, an authorized distributor as well... I got it several days before Semicon released it in their shops... but my warranty is still from Semicon.

Actually, 2999dhs(44985php) un P8 nung unang lumabas. Un P9 2599dhs(38985php) daw. BKet mas mura un P900 compared to the P800 nung unang lumabas? These are prices from Axiom and Aptec shops in UAE, which are authorized SE dealers.
