as a general rule, wav files are about 10mb/minute so bear that in mind. also, if you want to use a wav file as a ringtone in your p800, i suggest you use files not larger than 300kb. you don't want the phone to take so long loading the ringtone that the caller hangs up!

but how do i determine how much i want to convert of a file? fo example, if i want to have 300 k on my phone of a certain song, how do i do that?? also when i copied the wav file to my mobile, it was giving me an error message. what was the problem u think?? i used 2 different programs to convert and both gave me the same outcome.
i noticed that a wav file is more than 20 meg but how can i get 300 k out of it??!!!

well obviously you cannot use the whole song or whatever sound file you converted. you just cut the segment that you want to use.
one very simple although crude way to do that is to just use windows' sound recorder. just place 'cursor' or whatever you would call it at the point where you want to cut, the select either delete before or delete after this point.
