Hi,
I am not assuming things here, cos I am an IT tech guy in the PC world for the past decade, thus I know what WinTel has been doing for these 10 yrs
That's why I said SE wouldn't give 208 x 320 capture mode cos they know clearly that their h/w are not capable of doing it peoperly.
However, I do hope there's a WiFi capablilty built into the P900, but guess they may only come out in future models

But still, I won't go the MS way cos I find Symbian nice and good.
As for Bluetooth, I am sure the next firmware for the P900 will solve most, if not all of its current problems, just like my P800's, though I have to say, Symbian's Bleutooth capability is still at its infancy as compared to Ericsson, such as those in the T68m/i, T610, etc.
Cheers

True, Bluetooth on T610, T616, or T68 works like a charm. I got really tired of hard reseting my P800 because bluetooth won't respond! Pisses me off really bad. I don't know how long it'd take those software incapable Sony Ericsson engineers to fix the bluetooth, they can't even program the PC Suite right. Bluetooth firmware on P800, P900 is already at it's 5th revision, and that's a disgrace!

I heard that the PC suite that comes with the P800 are actually generic Symbian PC suite, just that SE changes the logo to theirs... how pathetic if it is ture
Yeah... with so few BT profiles as compared to the T6xx series, I really don't understand why they couldn't get it right in the very first place... Though my P800's BT problems has mostly been solved after revision R5A, it still hangs on me once in a while til I had to completely take out the battery and put it back again
Cheers

Next time, just press and hold the power button for 10 seconds to do a hard reset, no need to take out the battery.
Since Sony Ericsson can't even fix all these annoying bugs, and from what I can tell, P900 is just a slight upgrade to P800 (think about it, same crappy digital camera, same memory limitation, slightly different OS, it's totally not worth the money, thus, I'd get XDA II

You say the P900 was highest quality it could handle, but when it records at the highest quality, it's a .mp4 not a .3gp!!
When you record in lower quality's, its a 3gp..

Im using a XDA-II and P900. We develop Applications for Telca, the company responsible for customization of the P800/900 OS.
A P900 is more extensive, when it comes to developing applications for various purposes, but there are restrictions on the XDA-II. The Microsoft Mobile OS 2003 doesnt alow extensive development alot of Licensing hazards!
So in a scenario we can consider a P900 to be something like Linux, kind Open Source for alot of Application Development compared to a XDA-II.
The XDA-II Agreeably beats the P900 in Technicality matters! But functionality wise P900 is way better. Secondly, whats the point of having so many features on a XDA-II when the use of those every feature might cost you and extra buck!
Also a P900 is far more sleek and light weight to handle and carry for daily use, and the XDA-II much more heavy and bulky for the hands.

No, it's not the triangle of death. It's a complete white screen that even hanged the triangle of death itself I guess, thus even 20 sec of holding also doesn't help

Hey, Some people just have too much money to spend
I'm sure all the owners of P800, P900, XDA II are pretty well off and can afford the extra equipments, I think most people would agree with me that they would spend an extra $100 US dollars to make their phone 802.11b Wi-Fi WLAN enable. The reason to choose XDA II is for its upgradability and expandability.
Although, I do agree with you that P900 is much slicker, and I personally love P900 exterior design, but no matter how good the exterior deisgn is, I still can't over look the fact that it has too many annoying bugs. P900, P800's got the worst bluetooth connectivity ever.

Wow GreamRipper, may I know what sort of apps you develope?
Yeah... Linux

guess I chose the correct OS (I mean for my P800 and very possibly P900 if the price locally falls much lower than currently selling at) after all
Cheers

Having now had both the P900 & XDA2 (being one of major contributors of the last thread) I eventually went for P900 over XDA2 based on size, usabilty, battery life.
Only thing that XDA2 did that P900 can't come close to is recording & playback of Video.
The XDA2 is really for power users who need more of a PDA with far greater expandability and greater software range yet in a larger, heavier unit.
XDA2 is a gadget mans dream but I found battery life would be one of bigger issues.
