SE have made a slightly smarter smartphone, in exactly the same way that computer manufacturers make their PCs faster and better virtually every month.. it doesn't mean the old models are "dumped", or are no good anymore.

You'll always be able to upgrade your P800 with new software, giving it whole new functions and features, and making it do things SE never even thought of. That's the beauty of it.

Stop moaning and get on with enjoying your phone. SE don't owe you a thing, you choose to buy the phone and if you don't like what you have then tough luck. You own a device, which most people will never be able to afford, so count your blessings and get on with things. There is very little practical difference between the P800 and the P900, the P800 certainly does everything I need it to do. I upgraded to a P900 because I am an early adopter\business user and to be quite frank I can afford to.
There were similar moans to this guy's when the P900 was just about to be released. Any company, which makes a product, is going to eventually want to upgrade that product in some way so as to generate more sales. You accuse SE of abandoning P800 users simply because they have released a new model, this is spurious reasoning at best. Have SE abandoned those customers who currently have old Ericsson phones?

In case you haven't noticed, not everyone on these forums are native English speakers! They do not need to be grammatically perfect!

P800 dumped?
why? cuz they didnt provide UIQ2.1?
well guess what, UIQ2.1 cant fit on the P800
know ur stuff before complaining..

the P800 was created 2yrs ago!! that is FAR longer before anyone knew if and when UIQ wld release a new version
SE learned from the P800 and left a lot of free space in the P900, for possible UIQ upgrades...

@pachy
OMG!! SE is a corporation that wants to make money? jesus!! I had no idea! I cant let them think about themselves, they must waste all their resources at upgrading the P800 for free until I die.. I shant buy another SE product now that I know they r capitalists!

Logically speaking, I guess it was really part of the strategy of every mobile phone company to replace old models with new ones - "almost" in quick succession - 'proliferation' is the best word to describe it !!! Though I would say that SE does not do things 'evidently' than what has NOKIA had been doing for the past years. Nokia proliferate fones, say, almost every quarter of the year, which I can say that perhaps 'quality control' had been very much neglected thoroughly ! They are more of a profit-oriented organization/co. rather than people-oriented ones !

I aint mad at SE for bringing out the new P900 model so soon i just wish that they would have things right in the first place, the P900 is what the P800 should have been but never was, but its all about business and profit. This message was posted from a P900

At the end of the day one has to remember that SE is a company selling products. Their primary goal, like any commercial effort, is to make money. To say that SE have abandoned you just because they have released a new model is ludicrous. They have one of the best customer service reputations of any large company I have delt with. They look after their customers and usually they are good at doing it.
Its completely unrealisitic to expect them to continue focusing all their resources and efforts on an older product. Enjoy the P800, its a classic.
