@Cycovision
Not disagreeing with you but I think that is the case with all T610's. Yours as well.
You just have to study the picture really carefully..

@oskar - you just said you have to study the picture really carefully. So surely the slight error there is in the pictures taken by T610's isn't that big a issue?

@Oskar
Fair point
Re-reading this forum properly, I see your point, crappy camera = crappy pictures, I just don't fully understand exactly what the original poster means. With my T610, I get the kind of images that one would expect from a camera phone. 'Roundness' is just how I would describe the results.

No, it's not.. But what I meant is that I don't think that there is any difference between one T610 and another T610.

Having clarified that it is a common problem in all the T610, there is some way to solve it ?

I am no camera expert, but by what people have said it sounds to be something to do with the size of the camera in the T610. I doubt there is anything we could do to solve it unless Sony Ericsson add something to the next firmware update addressing the problem which however I see as very unlikely seeing as alot of us haven't really noticed the problem. However if this to you is a big problem I suggest looking on download.com or something and look for software which can fix problems related to this. Or there might be features in imagaging software such as photoshop. But don't hold me to that.

The size of the lens would be a large part of the cause i think. I do a bit of photography, the smaller the lens the wider the angle. You can get some lens classed as fisheye lens, usually around 16mm. These give a rounded almost dome shaped picture, and it's very wide angle. I find when taking pics with my t610 that when set to take large pics there is some roundness to the pics.

Rounding or fisheyeffect is caused by a poor lens - the further away from the motive you take the picture the worse its going to get.
The camera in my otherwise belowed T610 simply sucks.
Sorry If I hurt any SE fans feelings here - but this has to be one of the poorest quality phonecams around - certainly the worst I have come across. And mind you I am an SE fan myself and I do think the T610 is the best phone Ive ever had. But the camera is simply pathetic.
Here are an example - photo taken right after eachother from the same spot - using first my T610 and then my Alcatel 735 - in the same cif resolution and qualitysetting. This example clearly show the T610 poor lens - creating the unwanted fishey effect - and the T610 poor whitebalance/colorbalance.
Look at the top of the roof to see the fishey effect and on the white sky and the white truck in the buttom that somehow turned purple in the T610 picture. The Alcatel 735 also use a 33mm lens but of quite a bit higher quality. If anyone after seeing these examples questions the fact the the T610 lens delivers rounded edges they need to get new glasses
Highest quality picturemode from T610:
Notice the completely distorted image, and the way whitebalance and colorbalance in general is way off. Notice the lack of sharpness and detail.
Same settings from A735:
Now this is the way the view actually looks irl.
And a few more examples of the picturequality from the Alcatel 735 to compare with pictures you might take using the T610:
Notice the detail, the sharpnes, the correct colorbalance, and the lack of noise - these look almost like a normal digitalkamera !
And an example of the pictureqaulity from T610 using highest settings:
Unsharp, poor whitebalance, poor colorbalance, lot of noice in the picture. Notice how the tableline in the lower part is actually starting to round - even in this rather closeup picture. And this is how all pictures from the T610 looks.
How SE was ever able to put such a poor camera in their phones is beyond me.
PS: I have the latest firmware.

no news there. it's really only a toy - included so

could say they had a camera phone. however, i think the cam is really only secondary to the rest of the phone.
