I have used the P800 for 4 months and the P900 for about 6 weeks. I keep repeating on this forum the range of minor improvements (the screen is not the same unless it is not basic electronics and I assume no new electronics are needed to make use of the colour capabilities of the screen) make the P900 a much better Smartphone. I am really amazed how the basic electronics in the P900, which are 100% the same as the P800, make the P900 a much more useable machine.

Can you pls tell me exept the screen and the exterior of the pnone what other hardware changes you see?Is it faster? the bluetooth its the long ranged one? the memory capacity is larger? And yes for me the screens matters allright but not so to justify 400eu more if i sell my p800 not for the same phone in almost every aspect!!Its ok for the people that want the new even if it doesnt offer to much but i want significant improvments to buy another phone.

People have different priorities. Me, I don't buy just hardware, I want the complete package of hardware, screen, memory (up from 12mb to 16mb), software, design, battery life and user managed update of the firmware. If your interest is just hardware (which appears to exclude the screen, flip, battery and speaker updates) then you may wish to look at the Sony UX-50 which has a much faster processor, better screen, BT and WiFi. Also, unfortunately, here in the UK the P900 has been FREE on a number of deals and I was able to buy one for UKP100 with a new network contract. I can see that for you the price of the P900 cannot be justified by the improved overall package, but because here in the UK we have many ways of reducing the initial price the P900 package can be very attractive (especially since P800 can be sold for UKP200 / 300Euros).

3 processors? really?

My friend Mr Sony whos owns Sony Ericsson said he personally made sure there were 4 in it. He said there would also be a fold out 19inch TFT monitor included.

Ok ok, so im mucking about, but on a serious note, i have a p800 and have seen the p900. I like the looks of the p800 more, however the p900 does look better quality, anybody who has owned both...

Is it worth buying a p900?

Better wait if you want something really new.i dont think you wait for long. Then again if you have the extra money the p900 65k screen its good for movies

When the P900 was released there were rumours that in Q3 04 the replacement for the P900 would be released. Also given the time it takes to prepare s/w and production etc the prototype of the replacement is probably already working and being refined. The rumours suggest UMTS, WiFi and Duo Pro support. Now given that battery life and portability are important in a phone based device, I can't see a radical change in form factor or screen etc otherwise battery life will suffer; unless the processor can be actively managed as in the UX-50 to minimise battery drain.

How about the screen its tha same one or maybe 260.000 colours as some new models have ? and i hope they change the resolution. But i know its difficult to maintain the battery to last long with so many features...
