That concept phone MUST be Sony's, who else could put LEGS on a phone and still make it look that good!!
The legs are only there to support the phone, they are attached to the display stand !!!

Are you sure? Look attached, shame if they're not, I quite like them.
Have actually seen one of those phones then? Do they look even better in real-life?

who ever said the menu is made by ericsson if wrong.
as p800/900 runs run on symbian7 system, the menu is by symbian.

No, I've not seen one " in the flesh ", but I've seen photos elsewhere.
A photo can be found here

Legs would make it rather impractical to put in your pocket !!

@ Trinity, yeah I realise that. I just mean their phones in general i.e. all those with nice icon menus like T68, T610 etc. forgot the thread was originally about P900!
@ Bigredend, shame they're not on the phone I think, slightly impractical in ur pocket but looks ace on the table in front of all ur jealous friends!

....maybe that's why sony is in front of the company name.

i don't think that's the reason of the name

you know it would be very strange if a company would have a name like: ericsson sony

i think its fairly obvious that the p800 and p900 are more sony and the other phones (t610) are ericsson. you only have to look at the jog dial and "floating balls" menu that apeared on all sony phones.

Hmmm... this thread shows who are the oldies and the newbies in the Ericsson/SE game.
Considering that Ericsson had a prototype of the P800 LONG BEFORE the merger... and that prototype already had 90% of the P900 (yes, P900..not P800) functions... that shows that Sony didn't do anything technology-wise with the current line-up of SE.
This communicator, which was shown about a year before the Sony-Ericsson merger, had a QVGA touchscreen, ran Quartz (UIQ's original name), had GPRS and GPS capabilities, tri-band, speakerphone, bluetooth, and best of all... it didn't have the jog-dial, nor did it use the MS Duo... it had a more convenient joystick (T68m) and an SD card slot... I feel the joystick is much more convenient since it can be used just as easily with either hand.
The fact that all their phones now are still based on the T68m hardware platform, and the T68i (SE's most successful phone to date) is still based on the T68m...both internally and externally... this proves that Sony only contributed funding and marketing power... not technology or R&D.

just look at that prototype you posted a picture of!
i can tell a mile off its an ericsson! look at it! it doesn't look anything like the p900!
isn't the sudject of this thread is who designed the aesthetics and ergonomics of the p900?
i can only assume that you never owned a sony phone? because if you had then you would have noticed lots of similarities, not only in form but also in function.
i find it hard to see your argument that sony had nothing to do with the design of the p800/900 when that pic you posted clearly shows that the effect the sony design team had on the phone was extremely noticable.
and as for your coment on me being a newcomer to the sony/ericsson game. as we all know - the mobile phone market is greatly dependant on brand loyalty. my loyalty has been with sony since i moved from from blokia. my first sony phone being a CMD-J5 a J6 then a Z7. both fantastic phones. especially the j5 for its time!
you see, i couldn't live without a jog dial now! i know, that for all you newbies ,that the jogdial is different. but i've had a jog dial on every phone i've had (expt my t610) for FOUR YEARS. i've had plenty of time to get used to it!
i also like the way you assumed i knew nothing because i'm a new user on this forum. thats cos i've been talking nonsense on sony forums like
www.syllas.com for years!
rant over lol!
