In order for your P800 to recognize the start-up/shutdown clips, they need to be named exactly the same as the original ones. (so startup and shutdown) When you would leave your original files in the directory, the would be overwrited. So when you do not copy them else were (or move them, just don't shut off your phone before you put the new files in the directory), they will be lost.
Also, for some reason the startup files uses a sepperate wav file for sound. With the shutdown file, it's integrated in the clip. Be really sure you know what you're doing with this. I suggest you don't attempt to make files on your own, except when you know excactly what you're doing. It can mess up your phone pretty bad, forcing you to have it reset at a service point.
