Ayush.. its not for me dude.. its for my sister.. she is gonna use a cell fone for the first time..
t230 looks are a bit too conservative.. dont u think so?... and it doesnt have ir too as the 3100..
apart from it.. featurewise they are almost same with the differences u have mentioned..
which looks good on a gal's hand..

IMO low end nokia is better than low end SE.
The nokia software is fine... same as the ones that run in the 7250 etc..etc..but either way your choice..good luck

still itchy in deciding.. and my friend works in nokia software and hes already discounted and given an invoice of 3100 and i still havent done anything with it.. and it stands at Rs 8649/-... and i am yet to check the price of t230...
....
i am really in a catch-22 situation..
i hate nookia for all u know.

T68i is/was a brilliant phone... in it's day. But those days are over, and you simply can't give your sis a phone with a screen that has way less colors than those that her g'friends probably have.
And the shiny lights just make 'em all happy and giggly.
She's probably not a 'phonefreak' and she probably doesn't chat on mobile phone forums so do her a favor and get her the nokia

BTW 3100 doesnt have infrared, as i have see the model myself and the body is quite plastic..
the outer shell of t230 is more aesthetic than the 3100..

i had a t226 the north american model.. adn as a phone it was pretty good... i didn't like the look of it a little boring. the screen was pretty good for 512 the t230 is 4k i think???? not sure too lazy to check.
i didn't like the new keypad/direction pad..the joystick is better.
the reception on the phone was great..but other wise i little boring for me.
the n3100 had more to it.. the speaker phone, games, and little things that make young people go for it...like all the pretty lights etc..ect.. and the screen is better
overall i'd say t226(t230) 7/10 nokia 3100 8/10 in the low level category. why don't you just get her a t610 they're dropping in price anyways.
you can find used ones mint condition for about 160 USD
