7650 was £79.99 simfree from carphonewarehouse

t610 £199.99

i think the 7650 wins.

OT a bit here:
I own a P800 too. The pic quality is as follows:

1. N7650
2. P800
3. Z600

with N7650 giving the best pic quality.

Among ALL smartphones, the 7650 has the WORST picture quality. Do a search for the old MCA vs 7650 threads, and you will see horribly blue-tinged, blurry, barrel-distorted pictures from the 7650.

As for 7650 vs. p800 size: They're virtually identical when the 7650 slider is closed. But the P800 has a huge screen.

Rashkae, why the Nokia bashing?

People who actualy OWN both the P800 and 7650 have said their opinions (namely the 7650 cam is better), and you go on to point out MCA vs. 7650 comparisons. What?

I have used the 7650 and P800 cams, and even though I've never directly compared the quality, the 7650 did produce subjectively better images.

And the P800 is noticeably larger and heavier than the 7650, even though in terms of numbers it's only slightly bigger.

Anyway, in my opinion even though they're both smartphones, they're in different classes. The 7650 is a much better PHONE, whilst the P800 excells in PDA functions. I personally can't stand the touchscreen input system, give me real buttons anyday.

@fannypad
FIRST and FOREMOST I wasn't reffering to YOU!

You wrote:
And if you go on your silly premise that large size = "straight to the bottom", then where must the bigger P800/900 be?

If you correctly red my 'PS.', I clearely mentioned "Touch screen and memory-card slot" - That excuses the size of both P800 and P900, and that's why they are at level where they can clearly look down to 7650, which due to its size, it had reached the bottom!

You wrote:
The fact remains that the 7650 is a very good phone, especially for its time. No amount of mindless Sony Ericsson zealotry can change that.

7650 WAS an OK phone, but never, at any point above average - And there is no zealotry my friend - Just a fat, bloby, uncomfortable 7650. It is clear that Nokia quickly 'threw out' for production 7650, because P800 would be around, and they wanted to hang on to the market with their own 'smartphone'. The fact is that both phones started selling very well, but in a VERY small amount of time, all 'smartphone-users' turned to P800. ESPECIALLY because of its memory-card capabilities.

You 'have used 7650 and P800 cams?' Not owned the phones? You 'have never directly compared the quality?', meaning you have not ever tested them phone by phone? Then WHY are you going on babbling about 7650 superiority?

I have P800, and my brother, who's a Nokia fan, had 7650. On a whole day together, when we first bought our phones (from 11:00am to 21:30pm), we tested their photo-capturing capabilities in most lighting conditions. And guess what - P800 won 5 - 2! The 7650 was only A BIT better than P800 while we where inside a superstore (NK) and a cafe (Wayne's, which had a bit lower lighting conditions), while P800 was OK. On the rest of the places, P800 was almost excellent, while 7650 SUCKED BIG-TIME: About 12:00, with lots of sun, P800 scored perfect, while 7650's picture was dazed. At a street with buildings surrounding and covering the sunlight, P800 did well, while 7650 snapped blurry, highly yellow-toned pictures (Unexpectably ugly). Not to mention the pictures taken in the afternoon and evening - 7650 was out of game.

Now THAT's my EXPERIENCE and PHONE-TO-PHONE results - Neither assumptions, guessing, imagining, nor... zealotry.

PS. God bless the smartasses, so they can create and produce more complete smartphones, for the comfort and pleasure of all of us!

Used it, found it useless.

Check carefully. There have been MANY comparisons. Result? On the phone screen, the 7650 pics look better because of the odd washed-out colors on the P800 screen. But, once on a PC, the 7650 pics are godawful. And yes, I have tested this myself. That's called REAL, first-hand experience.

Check your eyes. It's not, especially once you slide out the 7650 flip.

In the phone vs. PDA discussion I can agree. As for touchscreen or not, well, to each their own.

Bloody hell, some people on here really do have quite unhealthy fetishes for certain brands of mobile phone.

I gave my subjective opinions on camera quality based on my personal experience. You might like to think that the 7650 pics I've taken look shite, when in all actuality the impression I personally got when using both was that the 7650 took better pictures. No nerdy comparing identical shots, just to me the 7650 appeared to take better pics all round.

To you and others, the P800 might do better. It's very subjective; you haven't seen the pics I've taken with both and vice versa.

And just for argument's sake, the P800 IS noticeably bulkier than the 7650, it simply feels bigger and heavier in the hand. If you want to get pedantic look at the official specs

I am not a Nokia fan or a Sony Ericsson fan, I am a phone user. I've happily owned and used products from both firms. I will praise whatever product I deem worthy, regardless of who it was made by.

Anyway, I can't be arsed to waffle on about this, the original poster's question has long since been answered, in that the 7650's camera pisses all over the T610's.

Shame, would have been nice if my T610 could take anything other than dismal quality shots.
