correct, you can't beam with it but it does also support the ability to dial out from a pc to the internet via the phone and comes/came with a CD with appropriate pc software for this
I used one briefly as it came in a special edition tin set with the original HBH-10 headset

zeah there was an IR adaptor too. The DI-28... this is from the support page

You said dial up/internet. You mean using phone as a gprs modem via bt and/or IR?
