Let me make 3 guesses about slamEVIL, even if I don't know him:
- He owns a Nokia (Probably even a 6110 or older). His T610 is a cover-up...
- ...So, he hates SonyEricsson
- He is pissed-off at Z1010 because it's a 3G phone and he won't e able to fully enjoy it!
Buddy, don't go on showing us pictures from other sites that we have already seen. Second of all, the purpose of those pics is to make you 'understand' better its size! They're not opposing those phones! You can't be comparing size-wise a 2G and a 3G phone. It's like comparing apples with melons - They're two different things! Size-wise, with today’s technology, 3G phones 'have' to be a bit bigger in order to support that kind of communication! All we can do is jto sit back and hope that technology we soon make them smaller and more practical…
Also, don't go on dissin Z1010, since your knowledge and experience upon 3G very limited. It's very apparent that you haven't seen many other 3G phones, especially in real life. Because if you've had, than you would bare in mind the other 3G phones that are already out in the market (For instance here in Europe), they look more like bricks than mobiles and are MUCH bigger than Z1010 (Ironically, many of those humongous 3G phones are created by a home-company of yours - Motorola... Sorry buddy, no offense, but they are DAMN huge!...)
HERE IS BRIEF COMPAPRISON OF 3G PHONE MEASURES:
SonyEricsson Z1010 - 98.5 x 54.5 x 29 mm
Motorola A835 - 137 x 55.6 x 26.5 mm
Motorola A920 - 148.5 x 60 x 24.3 mm
NEC e616 - 103x53x26.4mm
NEC e313 - 103x53x26.4mm
As you can see, the only REAL challenger right now is NEC, which is no surprise, as Ericsson, Sony & SonyEricsson is behind much of its technological features... Adios amigos!

I had been waiting for the z1010 for months and to be quite frank l got fed up of waiting. I now have an NEC 616, which does me very nicely thank you very much.
The z1010 is lessening in impact each day it goes unreleased. I agree that a Q4 release would have been best, SE are seriously playing with fire in not releasing it.
This isn't an attack on the z1010, rather its an observation.

But even NECs newest model only has 44h standby time. Not good at all.

Is it really that big? Yeah I've seen the pics and yeah it looks a little chubby but still i'm willing to give it a shot and see it in my hand and make the decision. After all those specs really sound tempting: mp3, bluetooth, 3G, memory card slot
If you know any other phone which is shell and has those specs then let me know.

I think that they will sell the Z1010 in April 2004. At the price around 800 euros here in Portugal.
Who Knows ???
