I meant you
cannot change the fact that the phone (

ones anyway) will display all wap links in blue coloured text.
Gotta keep those things in mind when making a wap site mate

yep, don't use a dark blue for the background, espcially if you plan on using pictures as links.

marcos try out the two test pages i have made,
t610wap.com/test.htm
and
t610wap.com/test2.htm, which do you prefer, but bear in mind that the yellow is less bright on a t610 screen

I have low credit on my phone right now, but i will get a chance to view them on a friend's T610 later today.
I'll let you know what i think, and if you'd rather contact me though MSN messenger:
marcosdjcm@hotmail.com
I may not be on tonight, but i'd be glad to check out the site and give you feedback as soon as i can
EDIT: forgot i could just check them out on IE

. One question, after i click enter on the real homepage, it takes me to a page with images as links, do those images show up on the T610 or are they just text links?
Also, both those colours look better than the red, how many colours can you choose from? Is there a limited palette?

the images do show up on the t610 screen, that is why they are so small when you look at them on IE, if i made them any bigger they wouldn't work on the phone.
There is a limited number of colours that you can choose from, but it is still a fairly big range, check out
http://hotwired.lycos.com/webmonkey/reference/color_codes/
It has all the colours that you can use and the HEX codes for them.

So its 256 colour palette? Plenty to choose from. If the links are always solid mid-blue on the T610 you could still get away with making the background a light blue. Post the links to any more test pages and i'd be glad to give my opinion.
I personally would not use images for the links, doesnt that slow the site down alot when browsing with a mobile device? I dont actually know the connection speed.
You could always instead make small icons that relate to the link and place them to the left of a plain text link. Can you choose what font shows on the screen of mobile devices?

I think the site looks great in the red on a T610 screen! And it doesnt take that long to load up the pictures as links. I think the site is great the way it is, content and image! :-D:-D

cheers harvey,
like said images don't take too long to load, and the phone can save them in the cache if you aren't viewing other sites with lots of images, which means they load much quicker the second time. I have made the size (in terms of kb's) of the images as a small as possible, so they are only about 2-3k each.
The only problem with the colours is that they are fainter on the t610 screen than on a pc screen, so if i want a faint colour on the t610, it will have to be fairly bright when viewing on a pc. The only way to get around this is to create 2 sites, one for web, and one for wap, but this would be too much hassle.
