If this is the successor the the P900, its pretty sad. I mean, the only difference between this and the current P900 is the flip. Oh well, the Motorolla MPx is starting to look better by the day.

i agree, it's not much of an upgrade - even less than the P8 -> P9 (assuming the software isn't radically altered). why no mention of wifi in this presentation? why no mention of an improved screen, or camera? why no mention of the real change that everyone needs - support for duo pro?
the only good thing i can see about this, is it will knock down the price of the P9 - but both phones will need to be a lot cheaper to be competitive with the best of the rest coming out now.
they've certainly had their money's worth out of the P800's development, considering this is now the second face-lift they've given that same architecture. it's really time for something new.

I have just ported from an MPx 200 (I don't think the Mpx is out yet). The battery life was two days at best and whilst the software was good, stable, user friendly and apps cheap, the small screen and multitap keys were a pain for data input. Doing bulk calender items on the P9 is abt 4-5 times faster!- Just to let you know:)

this is not very likely, unless SE are planning 2 sucessors to the P900, an interim one, 'layla' (whatever) and then a real replacement 'P1000'...,,

Unless it has EDGE, Wifi, and a 1.3MP cam with flash... I don't think it's worth the 'upgrade'. For new buyers, yes... for existing owners... not really. That's like those car manufacturers slapping on a new grille and rear lights and calling it a "new" model.
If it has Wifi, I might consider it... and skip the P900 all together. But let's wait and see. Ericsson/SE has a way of surprising the public, even if news has been 'leaked' already.
I only have a couple of small wishes, design-wise:
1.) Keypad is flush when flip is attached, and shouldn't add any thickness to the phone with or without the flip... the Ericsson R380 flip was well incorporated into the design of the phone. Not just a flip resting on top of the phone.
2.) A sliding 'window' to protect the exposed area of the screen when the flip is closed. Something that slides out from the keypad flip or something.
Minor wishes... but would be nice to have if they could add them.
