Then format/setup the partition which you wish to, it will only format the patition you select to setup on.

Just delete any partitions in the setup and start from scratch. This message was posted from a T630

@imanuk it just gives me option to install on that particular partion. No format option. Moreover it also says that installing OS on drive having XP may cause problems. Is that just crap?

@Mixin is there any option to delete partion?

I would follow the install track, you should be given the format option.

If you want to format the drive your obviosly not worried about weather you cause problems with the existing installation. And if the new installation is no good you can always try again.

Have a loog at this guide and is links I found on google
http://www.mvps.org/sramesh2k/XPClean.htm

Also dont forget to apply service pack 1a and above including any critical updates before connecting it to the internet or your PC will get the w32.blaster.worm that plagued many over last summer within 5miniutes of connection to the internet.

Off the link imanuk gave:
Quote:5.  The screen will now list all existing partitions and un-partitioned space for each hard disk. Use the cursor/arrow keys to choose where to create the new partition. Press D to delete an existing partition or press C to create a new partition in un-partitioned space. If you press D to delete an existing partition, you must then press L (or press ENTER, and then press L if it is the System partition) to confirm that you want to delete that partition. Repeat this process for each of the existing partitions that you want to move (or remove) in order to create your new partition. When all necessary partitions are deleted, you can then select the remaining un-partitioned space and then press C to create new partitions.

to delete all partitions
