You could say the psp does movies and stuff, but it's not a standard format, and no one wants to be messing about with pc's putting movies on it.

That would be a huge minority. It just seems like It's not because this is an SE/mobile related site.
Sony's core audience is the casual gamer, the casual gamer most definitely doesn't want to fart about on a pc(if they even have one) with a usb cable or whatever for an hour just to watch a film.

That looks so nice. The screen looks huge. Compared to the Nintendo DS this looks really expensive. The DS that was shown has to be a prototype as it looks so unproffesionally designed.

Yeah steve, nintendo have said they still haven't finished the final form of the ds. That one was playable at e3 though.
