Yeah Jezz I read that bit of the 30 Days, bit devious though. I will email T-mobile and ask them to be a test dummy for there 3 service.
P.s when I called them yesterday the guy was so excited and he was asking me all these questions about the Z1010 and if I thought it was worth it. He didnt go into any other detail either about when they will launch it but he did confirm that the data version is working well.

You are not the only one who has the problem. Seems like there is a problem with Z1010 and using a simple GSM sim card instead of a USIM umts.

The problem is that the phone is trying to register on the UMTS netword of ur provider (the blue logo shows you that you are on UMTS) but when it registers it simply cannot receive/make phone calls. Somehow it cannot understand that it should NOT register to UMTS.

I am not sure also if it is a software problem of Z1010 or has to do with the networks (some wrong settings from their side?).

I have tried a simple sim card on Samsung Z105 and the problem appears there too.At least on the Samsung you can choose of u want the phone to register on GSM only and that solves the problem.

@themarques - I think we all need an independent/unbiased field report on battery life. So once you have had a chance to get it running without all the inactive sim stuff, let us know how many days we can expect between charges. We are of course hoping your results will be based on normal usage + 25% because it is a new and all that jazz. I hope your results are pased on the 3pay USIM.

Regarding the inactive sim thing, I used to get that on my T-Mobile T610 when GPRS is always on. T-Mobile have a problem with GPRS always on, whatever the phone. Had the issues on my wife's Nokia 7210 on Saturday because of it. If there is a way to disable the GPRS/internet connection, maybe your phone will stabilise on T-Mobile.

Hi,I am off to buy the 3sim today. So far the battery is been pretty stable so I guess for the standby time I can clearly say 3 days. I know that once I start using it this week its going to be all over the place.

With regards to the GPRS,I dont even have the icon saying its active... I know previously on the T610 you had an option of allways on but I cant seem to find it on the Z1010.

My girlfriend is around for the weekend and I have put her sim from an Austrian provider in the Z1010. So far it seems stable I let it roam on T-mobile and still cool, but still no GPRS icon.

The menu is very fast especially with typing SMS. The wap section seems to be a little unresponsive bu then again it could be my connection. The red colour of the phone is not as bright as it looks in the pictures, much better in real life. I am not to keen on the WHITE BACKLIGHT,kinda makes it look cheap. The digital zoom is quite good, il post some pics later on to show you guys what its like.

@themarques. Can you use regular headphones with the z1010 or do u have to use the stereo headset that comes with the phone? If u cant there better be an adapter available. It would annoy me alot if i can get good quality stereo sounds but could only listen to them thru a shitty headset.

Hi,
Themarques..U lucky guy..!
I was wondering how much u spent on Z1010, Mean like the unofficial price before its released elsewhere.
Also I use an 32K SIM from Idea Cellular, which runs on GSM 1800..will the Z1010 survive my Operator.
The pictures you uploaded seem fairly good, Not quite like what was expected, could you click some better ones and upload...
Oh yes! Does this baby come with the USB cable and all or do we still need to buy one..
