i dunno, i just don't like cats. i suspect my allergy plays a large part in that, but it could also be their attitude
i'm just not a fan of a lot of these "special" editions for everyday objects (be it hello kitty, ferrari or whatever).
i mean honestly, who on earth needs a hello kitty headlight?

I can understand where your coming from but there are but there are a lot of fans of certain genres who are willing to pay top buck for a certain kind of collectable...I mean to cut a long story short if

were to come out with a range of clothing im sure esato members will be the first to run out and buy them.

sure, but clothing is a useful item. for instance, i couldn't see myself buying a sony ericsson gearstick knob for my car. i'm all for merchandising, but in many instances you are only paying for the brand and not the quality. i don't imagine that the hello kitty notebook is in any way superior to any other notebook of equivalent specs (except possibly in price).

exactly. if buying it makes you happy, go ahead. if not, don't. i just don't understand the fascination some people have with certain brands/products and merchandising.

Well people find that Brands or special Editions give them that individuality, makes them different and stand out!..Aswell as the particular item being collectable.

i understand the collectable angle - although a lot of people ruin it by actually using the item. most things are more valuable if kept untouched (or barrely touched) in their orignal packaging. unfortunately, we don't all have the money to buy two of everything.
