SE's design and combination of features is just extraordinary. When I hold a SE phone in my hand, that is special and exciting. When I hold another phone in my hand, it's just another phone.

I like ericssons because their shapes weren't too weird. good thing SE is continuing this tradition. didn't get too many sony phones here so i can't really comment on their design or interface.

i've just got myself a 6230 (i can't wait for a k700) and i'm regretting it. batt life-->as a multimedia phone, it has got a short battery life (if u were to play mp3 files through the loudspeaker, be assured that you'd need to charge it twice a day). supposedly a business phone--> how can nokia call the 6230 a BUSINESS PHONE when the phone just creaks (unlike the solid feel of SE fones). Menu system--> this is the part where i hate most--> boring menu. List system is too troublesome. Grid system isn't any better, lousy drawing of the icons. no animations. no nothing.worse still, i can even count the number of colours used in the menu system..i guess i'm missing my t68i's menu...=D personalisation--> the 6230 give's the user no freedom to 'design' their phones. no themes at all. at the most, the user is given colour schemes to choose from, and that is utterly disgusting.I LOVE SE'S THEMES. Stability--> if anyone of u has owned the 6230 before, u'd understand what i mean by the phone just resets itself for no apparent reason. pissed off.

too bad the k700 does not support ms duo..it's very useful, really. i've converted my 6230 into an mp3 player with a 128 mmc.

after all, i'm just another typical NOKIA HANGPHONE user who is left feeling cheated.

In time when I bought my first /// everybody wanted blokia 3310... Crapy heavy phone. /// R320s Impressed me! I´ve tried also Motorola´s, Alcatel but T68 was my dream and then T610 and Z600 appeared - and it was the best thing around - Now I have Z600 and I love it! It has everything I need...

I had a Sony J5 before my current T610, and I loved it! True, it couldn't vibrate and output sounds at the same time, but other than that it was a fantastic phone. When I bought it it was the same price as a Nokia 3310, but had a vastly better feature set - a large greyscale screen, decent (Pocket IE based) WAP, a very lightweight design and a fantastic scroll wheel at the side, which made it fantastic for texting and moving about menus.

well, as i said in another post, i also use a siemens SX45 smartphone, which i think is a very good tool and a good alternative to the huge and rather difficult to use N-9210. i like sony ericsson phones because i owned sony and ericsson phones before and found a lot of flaws in them, and i was waiting for an improvement. it happened. i now use the T310, thou it's a cheaper less equiped alternative to the t68/i, it suits my communication needs just fine.
and i have to say that most siemens phones are not half that bad either. i'd like to try the S55 at some point. the only thing i dislike in siemens phones is the GUI.
as for nokia... money making machines. they give java support on 3410 but no poliphony, then 3510 has poliphonic tones but no java support. then comes out 3510i and has both... this is not so good. then you have to pay in order to change covers, download ringtones, apps, etc. not to mention that some of them models use the same type battery, with a very short st-by time...
i could go on, but i'd better stop. too many ppl prefer throwing theyr money away instead of buyin` something solid and durable like SE or siemens. oh, and another thing i like about siemens they ofer fw upgrade from theyr website, at no cost (at least they used to, i'm not sure right now).

This guy hit the nail on the head for me. I love SE phones because they not only look good and have cool designs, SE phones 'feel' expensive, kind of like fine jewelry, or a gold Rolex watch.

Plastic Nokias feel like something that came out of last years Christmas crackers.
